It has predominately been older White males. This has slowly changed with the addition of two White women and needs to continue on this trajectory to bring in more diversity. Central San could benefit from diversity to more accurately reflect the composition of our community.Of the four candidates, two are women of color, while the other two are older and white. It is time to make governing boards reflect the diversity of the people they represent. It’s currently too difficult for the DA to establish a case a jury relates to and will understand as a crime.Hate has become normative in our society. So has hate-motivated behavior, and this affects juries.This legislation (AB 1064) however will clarify for arresting officers, investigators, DAs and CPDAs that a pattern of targeted hate behaviors establishes a hate crime motivation. Woman vanishes in San Francisco during cruise vacation SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The San Francisco Police Department Missing Person Unit is asking for the public’s assistance to find a missing 33-year-old woman. On Monday at 6 p.m., a woman called SFPD's Central Police Station reporting that Alaina Marie Adams was missing. Adams does not live in California and she was supposed to board a cruise ship at Pier 27, police said. Adams never boarded the ship, and she remained missing as of Tuesday afternoon, police said.Adams is described as white, 5'4" tall, weighs 140 pounds, has black hair, and brown eyes. Adams has tattoos behind both ears and a tattoo on her right foot. Alaina Marie Adams is missing in San Francisco. One suspect charged in October Airbnb party killing of Berkeley High students (KRON) -- One of two juveniles arrested for the homicides of two brothers who were fatally shot last year at a house party has been charged by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, according to Oakland PD. Angel and Jazy Sotelo were fatally shot on Oct. 1, 2022 at a residence on the 950 block of Apgar Street in Berkeley. Puppy found stuffed in garbage bag in Santa Cruz County Jazy, 15, and Angel, 17, were students at Berkeley High School. The brothers were killed at a party held at an Airbnb in Oakland. There were around 30 people at the party when the shooting occurred. When officers initially responded to the incident, they located several victims with gunshot wounds. (KRON) -- Gunfire was exchanged early Sunday morning in Brentwood after an attempted car break-in, the Brentwood Police Department said. The shots were fired on the 2700 block of Serene Court before 4 a.m. Sunday morning. BPD officers determined that the suspects were in the victim's driveway trying to break into a vehicle when the victim discovered them. 3 San Francisco shootings in 1 day leave 1 dead, 14-year-old injured The victim confronted the suspects, and a suspect fired a round at the victim, police said.
